External Evaluation and Certification

We have been selected as a constituent of the MSCI Nihonkabu ESG Select Leaders Index, which is one of the ESG indices adopted by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF). The MSCI Nihonkabu ESG Select Leaders Index is an ESG investment index provided by Morgan Stanley Capital International, Inc. (MSCI) of the US, which selects companies with relatively high ESG ratings within their respective industries.

We obtained an A rating in the latest MSCI ESG ratings.

We have been selected as a constituent of the S&P /JPX Carbon Efficient Index, which is one of the ESG indices adopted by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF). Using TOPIX, a representative stock price index indicative of market trends in Japan, as its universe, the S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index determines the weighting of constituent stocks based on the status of environmental information disclosure and the level of carbon efficiency (carbon emissions per unit of revenue).

CDP is a UK-based international environmental NGO that, at the request of institutional investors and purchaser corporations around the world, asks companies to answer questionnaires regarding their environmental activities and scores them based on their responses.

In the fiscal 2023 survey conducted by CDP, we obtained a score of B (management level) in the climate change field.

We have been selected as an A-ranked company—the top rank—in the Fluorocarbon Countermeasure Rating 2023 conducted by the Japan Refrigerants and Environment Conservation Organization (JRECO). This survey targeted 1,653 companies listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market to comprehensively assess their understanding, awareness, initiatives, and information dissemination regarding the Fluorocarbon Emissions Control Act, and is published as the Fluorocarbon Countermeasure Rating.

In this survey, 76 companies were selected as A-ranked companies.
